Privacy Policy

The short version

PetsLately is designed so the cat records you enter stay on your device. Website tool entries are processed in your browser. The iOS and Android apps store their records in private local app storage. The website tools and apps do not send cat names, observations, medications, weights, notes, photos, attachments, or exported files to PetsLately servers.

There are no PetsLately accounts or sign-ups. The iOS and Android apps have no cloud sync, analytics SDK, advertising SDK, or AI service. Optional website analytics is separate, requires consent, and never receives health entries.

The iOS app

Cat profiles, observations, medication schedules and completion records, preventive-care records, vet-visit notes, report history, and settings are stored locally in the app's private on-device storage. Removing the app normally removes that local app data. A device backup may include app data according to your Apple and device backup settings; PetsLately does not control those backups.

The app accesses a photo or file only after you choose it through an Apple system picker. Selected photos and attachments are copied into local app storage. They are not uploaded by PetsLately.

If you enable a medication reminder, the app asks iOS for notification permission and schedules local notifications on the device. The lock-screen text is intentionally generic and omits the cat name, medication name, and dose. PetsLately does not use a push-notification server in iOS 1.0.

The Android app

Cat profiles, observations, medication plans and completion records, weight records, preventive-care records, vet visits, questions, drafts, reminder settings, and app settings are stored in a private local database and private app files on your Android device. PetsLately disables Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer for this app data. Removing the app normally removes its private local data.

The app accesses a photo or document only after you choose it through an Android system picker. For a selected photo, the app stores a reference and requests continued read access where Android allows it; a photo restored from a full backup is copied into private app storage. PetsLately does not upload either kind of photo. Removing a record or the app does not delete an original photo held outside PetsLately.

If you enable daily check-ins, medication reminders, preventive-care reminders, or vet-visit reminders, the app asks Android for notification permission when required and schedules the reminder locally on the device. Notification previews are generic and omit cat, clinic, treatment, medication, and dose details. PetsLately does not use a push-notification server in the Android app.

Website storage

Drafts are held in your browser's session storage so a refresh doesn't lose your work. Session storage normally clears when you close the tab, though your browser's crash- or session-restore features may keep it longer — we cannot promise secure deletion.

If you explicitly choose to save a tool's data on this device, it is stored in your browser's IndexedDB — only in this browser, on this device. It is not cloud sync. Clearing your browser data removes it, and you can clear it from the tool at any time.

Browser storage can be accessible to other people who use this device and profile. It is not an encrypted backup.

What we never do with health entries

Health entries are never sent to our servers, never put into analytics events, never included in error reports, never placed in URLs, and never shared with advertisers.

Website downloads are generated in your browser and saved directly by you. In the iOS app, PDF, .catcare, and .petslatelybackup files are generated locally and leave the app only when you choose a system Share or Save action. In the Android app, JSON exports, vet-visit PDFs, and full-backup ZIP files are generated locally and saved only to a destination you choose through the Android system picker. The Android app reads a .catcare import or full-backup file only after you select it through that picker. Copy to clipboard happens only when you choose Copy.

Exports, backups, and deletion

Files you export are under your control. A .catcare or Android JSON export contains readable health information. An iOS .petslatelybackup file or Android .petslately-backup.zip file contains a fuller copy of app records and integrity information. These files are not encrypted by PetsLately, so store and share them carefully.

Archiving a profile keeps its records in local app storage until you restore or permanently delete it. Permanent deletion removes the profile and its related records from PetsLately's private local storage according to the confirmation shown in the app. Deleting the app does not delete copies you previously saved through a system picker, sent through another app, or included in an external backup. You must delete those copies where you stored them.

Analytics

PetsLately uses optional Google Analytics 4 cookies only after you choose “Accept optional cookies.” If you reject before accepting, the Google tag is not loaded and no analytics event is sent. If you later withdraw your choice, future analytics collection is disabled and Google Analytics cookies set by this site are removed. You can change this choice from “Cookie choices” in the footer.

When allowed, analytics may receive the page path, page title, referrer, approximate location derived from the network connection, browser or device category, and limited feature-usage events such as a tool being started or a result being printed. Google also receives standard connection information needed to deliver the service. Advertising storage, advertising personalization, and Google Signals are disabled.

Analytics never receives your entries, your cat's name, symptoms, exact weights, medication names, doses, notes, exported files, or other free text. Page URLs sent to analytics exclude query strings. PetsLately does not use analytics data for advertising or sell it.

Your choices

Use any website tool without persistent saving — the website tools still work.

Save website tool data on this device only after an explicit consent screen explains what that means.

Clear website data from the tool or browser settings, and manage iOS or Android records, archived profiles, exports, and backups with the controls provided in the app and by your operating system.

Download your entries as a file you control.

Accept or reject optional analytics cookies, and change that choice later from the footer.
